Bobbie Jean Rittenhouse, 63, of Dalton, Georgia, died on Friday, September 16, 2016 at Yosemite National Forest in Yosemite, California.

Bobbie was born Jan. 30, 1953 in Walker County, GA, to the late Robert Nathan and Christine Bailey Crider; and was also preceded in death by her husband, David Rittenhouse; brother, Robert Nathan Crider Jr.; sister, Cheryl Suddeth; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Carl and Annie Rittenhouse, Sr.  

Bobbie was a 1972 graduate of LaFayette High School. She was retired from Whitmore and Associates.  She was a member of the Riverbend Church of God.

She is survived by her sisters and brothers-in-law, Helen Bearden of Rocky Face, GA, Martha and Lee Flower of Summerville, GA, Peggy Ball of Villanow, GA, Nancy and James Teague of Chatsworth, GA, Clara and Harold Langston of Lafayette, GA, Glenda and Michael Somers of Rock Springs, GA.; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Dawn Reed, Wanda Rutherford and Deborah Rittenhouse all of Dalton, GA, Carl and Charlotte Rittenhouse, Jr. of Chatsworth, GA, and James and Karen Rittenhouse of Dalton, GA; and several nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Bobbie Jean Rittenhouse will be held Sunday, Sept. 25 at 1 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with her pastor, Reverend David Lovain and Reverend Ron Oliver officiating.  She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband at the United Memorial Gardens with Mike Walker, Daniel Garland, Frank Jolley, Wayne Kelly, Blue Parker and Theodore Peters serving as pallbearers. 

The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 6-9 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24 and after 10 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 25.

Ponders Melrose Chapel, Dalton, has charge of the arrangements.
