Woman Makes Commotion At Erlanger; Assaults Officers

  • Wednesday, September 28, 2016

Susan Teresa Jones is facing a variety of charges after police said she made a commotion at Erlanger Hospital and assaulted several officers, including biting and kicking them.

Ms. Jones, 54, is charged with two counts of assault, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, aggravated assault on police and criminal trespass.

In the incident on Sunday, security officers were notified of a female acting irate in the baby NICU Unit. Officers said Ms. Jones is homeless and "didn't have any business at the hospital."

Security said the woman's brother was called, but while he was on the phone, she began screaming, which "delayed innocent bystanders from getting medical treatment."

Officers said she began to bite, scratch and kick security personnel and police officers repeatedly, injuring several.

It took several officers to get her into a patrol car.
