The Southern League has announced that Chattanooga Lookouts’ infielder Niko Goodrum has been named its Player of the Week for August 29th through September 5th.

Goodrum had a spectacular week at the plate hitting .500 in his eight games played over the last week of the Lookouts season with 15 hits in 30 at-bats and six extra-base hits, including two homeruns, a triple and three doubles.

The 2010 second round pick scored five runs and drove in eight, with three stolen bases as well.

Goodrum’s week began with a mammoth 4-for-5 performance with a double, a homer, a run scored and five runs batted in against the Mississippi Braves. The four hits and five RBI were both career highs for Goodrum. After an 0-for-4 day at the plate one game later, Goodrum ended the year with hits in all six of Chattanooga’s final 2016 games, including two three-hit games against the Jackson Generals.

The 24-year-old finished the season with a .275 batting average, 28 runs, 33 RBI and seven home runs across two levels, playing six games with Fort Myers before being promoted and finishing the year with the Lookouts. His final on base percentage (.352), slugging percentage (.464) and batting average all tied or exceeded career highs in a season.

The Chattanooga Lookouts want to thank their fans for a great 2016 season!  For up-to-date information throughout the offseason visit www.lookouts.com.
