The Caring Place Receives Donation From AFC Urgent Care/Family Care

  • Thursday, September 8, 2016

The Caring Place steps in to aid families who have fallen on hard times, providing them with the practical items needed to ensure a healthy and safe lifestyle while they are getting back on their feet.

With the importance of family health and safety in mind, AFC Urgent Care / Family Care has partnered with The Caring Place, donating $2,500 to better the lives of families in the city.

The Caring Place distributes groceries to families at or below the poverty line, gives families ready to wear clothing, and provides professional social work services to families who need them most.

Simply put, family life can be hard, and sometimes health basics are difficult to come by. The Caring Place is working towards easing this burden among the families who are in need of a helping hand.

AFC Urgent Care / Family Care believes in the mission of The Caring Place, and is proud to serve alongside The Caring Place to aid the community around them.

“We are so thankful for this donation from AFC,” said Caring Place Director Randy Howard. “The money donated here will go a long way to providing poverty stricken families with what they need to be healthy families. This donation alone will feed 16 families for over a year.”

AFC Urgent Care/Family Care serves a wide variety of patients for an even wider variety of illnesses and ailments, but one of their specialties is family medicine, serving countless children and parents for all of their sports, school, and urgent care needs.

“At AFC, our focus is on family health,” said AFC CEO Larry Kugler. “Family health comes in many different forms, and The Caring Place is one of the places that addresses many family issues in our community. At The Caring Place, families below the poverty line are treated with dignity and respect. That’s something we here at AFC want to get behind and support.”

Together, AFC Urgent Care / Family Care and The Caring Place are striving to prepare the community and its families for the future with clothing, groceries, and childhood needs.
