Dr. Stephanie Stegall To Serve As Honorary Chair For Three Blind Wines Event

  • Thursday, September 8, 2016
Chattanooga pediatrician Dr. Stephanie Stegall will serve as honorary chair of the 2016 Three Blind Wines event presented by Feed Co. Table and Tavern for cystic fibrosis.  The eighth annual event will be held Friday, Nov. 18 at 6 p.m. at Stratton Hall, 3146 Broad St. in Chattanooga.

“What an exciting time to be involved with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation,” Dr. Stegall said on being asked to serve as honorary chair for this year’s event. “It is astounding to see the research that is rapidly progressing to a cure and what an honor it is to be part of such a great team.”

A graduate of Emory University School of Medicine, Dr.
Stegall began working in private pediatric medical practice in Chattanooga with McLean Medical Services in 1998.  She became a shareholder in the practice in 2007 and since 2013 has been the sole owner of the practice now called Spring Creek Pediatrics. She was also named chief of staff at the Children’s Hospital at Erlanger.

Dr. Stegall has been actively involved in the community serving previously as board president for Hixson Therapeutic Horseback Riding and sitting of the board of directors for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation since 2012.  Dr. Stegall also supports the Hydrocephalus Association, March of Dimes, and SPARC, a chapter of Disabled Sports USA giving people with disabilities the opportunity to participate in the arts and sport.  She has been married to her husband, Ron Stegall, Jr. for 30 years and has twin daughters, Molly and Katherine, age 15.

“We are so happy that Dr. Stegall has agreed to serve as Honorary Chair for the 2016 Three Blind Wines event” said Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Board of Directors President Ginger Birnbaum. “Dr. Stegall represents a critical mindset when it comes to fighting CF; she sees hope in current research and the future of medicine.  It is a tremendous honor to the CF community that we have Dr. Stegall as an advocate and a leader."

The annual wine event is expected to bring more than 400 esteemed charity minded attendees, and to raise an estimated $65,000 to support the mission of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, to assure the development of the means to cure cystic fibrosis.  Feed Co. Table and Tavern has already shown their dedication to this cause and the community by signing on as this year’s presenting sponsor for the event.

Ms. Birnbaum said, “We could not do the important work of finding a cure without community partners.  For the first time since the inception of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in 1955, we can finally say that over half of the CF population is over the age of 18.  This simply would not be the case without well managed and well-funded research.  I cannot overstate how grateful we are to partners like Feed Co. Table and Tavern for such a generous investment.”

"From wine novices to fine wine aficionados, Three Blind Wines gives all guests the opportunity to taste different brands of wine while benefiting a great cause.  Guests will have the opportunity to compete and vote in the 'blind wine' contest.  The individual with the most popular wine will take home a cellar full of wine," officials said.

Featured at the wine event is a silent auction and reception at 6 p.m., followed by dinner, a live auction and entertainment.

According to Leigh Ellington, senior development director for the CF Foundation in East Tennessee, “Dr. Stegall and the Chattanooga community have been incredibly generous and supportive of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation through Three Blind Wines, raising more than $250,000 since 2008.  We work every day to provide more and better tomorrows for those fighting cystic fibrosis and we appreciate greatly Dr. Stegall’s acceptance of the position of Honorary Chair for the event and for the support this community will show her and the foundation this year.”
