Dorothy Sue Brackett, 68 of Rossville, Georgia, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 in a local hospital.  

She was a member of Brainerd Baptist Church and the Journey Class. Sue was retired from the University of Chattanooga as a secretary after 30 years of service. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Verner and Margaret Sawyer.

Survivors include her two sons, Wesley Brackett and Ashley (Kristen) Brackett; five grandchildren, Avery, Reed, Lincoln, Tyler and Kayley; one sister, Shirley Cassidy; several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Anz and his staff in Chattanooga and Dr. Bachier and his staff in Nashville for their excellent care and concern.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 21, at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home 404 South Moore Road with Dr. Steve Rowland officiating.  Burial will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.  

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 6221 Shallowford Road, Chattanooga, TN 37421.
