Winans, Frances Elizabeth

  • Wednesday, October 4, 2017

Mrs. Frances Elizabeth Winans, 87, of East Ridge, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2017. Mrs. Winans was born July 27, 1930 to her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wollenhaupt. Frances played the piano at Candler Methodist Church for over 52 years; and this is where she met the love of her life Murel Winans, the date was Feb. 27, 1948.  The couple would marry in October of that same year and continue their marriage for 69 wonderful years. Frances loved to cook and sew.  She would make clothes for her children and grandchildren, and cherished her family.  Her advice for a long marriage was to never go to bed mad at your spouse, and to always love the way the Lord loves us.

Mrs. Winans is preceded in death by her parents; Charles and Frances Smith Wollenhaupt.

Survivors include her loving husband of 69 years Murel Winans; children, Stephen Winans of East Ridge and Katherine Anne Burke (Anthony) of East Ridge.  Two grandchildren, three great-grand - children, as well as a host of church family also survive.

Mrs. Winans will be cremated and no service will be held. Visit the online guest book at www.wilsonfuneralhome.com.

Arrangements by W. L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Homes, Fort Oglethorpe.
