TVA Employees Participate In Their 22nd CFC Day Of Serving At Chambliss Center For Children

  • Thursday, October 5, 2017
More than 150 TVA employees came to the Chambliss Center for Children campus Thursday for their Combined Federal Campaign Day of Serving. This marked the 22nd year TVA has chosen to do a Day of Serving at the agency.

"It was a beautiful day so these highly-skilled workers completed all 45 tasks on the agency’s wish list. Volunteers tackled interior projects such as cleaning, painting, replacing ceiling tiles, organizing files and taking down walls. Exterior projects included cutting down trees, painting, mulching, construction projects and striping a parking lot," officials said.

“These volunteers get an entire year’s worth of projects completed in one day,” said Virginia Rushton, director of Volunteer Services for Chambliss Center for Children.
“Without them, we could not keep our campus looking as good as it does. Plus, they save us a lot of money, as we would otherwise have to hire out many of these jobs.”
