The Georgia Northwestern Bobcats golf team made its debut in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) National Golf Championships on Monday and it was a successful first 18 holes for the Navy-and-Silver.

The Bobcats carded a team score of 303 (15-over par) on the Penn State University Blue Course in State College, Pa.

Georgia Northwestern is currently in third place, two strokes behind Indiana’s St. Mary of the Woods College (301, 13-over par) and five strokes behind Michigan’s Cleary University (298, 10-over par), who is the leader in the clubhouse.

Adrian Clark and Branton Bailey both shot a 3-over par 75 on Monday for Georgia Northwestern. Cole Roberts came in at 76 and Lane Strickland’s 77 rounded out the team score. David Manis carded an 83 for the Bobcats, but only the lowest four scores are counted each round.

Trevor Spagnoletti 1-under par 71 led the way for Cleary, who had all golfers shoot rounds in the 70’s.

Evan Fahs of Penn State-Lehigh Valley leads the individual standings with a 2-under par 70.
