Gary Lynn Kelly answered the call to come home the morning of November 21, 2017.

A loving husband and father, to his wife Gwen, son Billy Kelly, daughter, Kathy Murphy, stepsons, Tommy Cunningham, Matthew Cunning and Chad Cunningham but, most importantly he was a follower of the Lord Jesus Christ. He was the son of Gene and Betty Kelly.

He is survived by his wife, son and daughter, his father Gene Kelly, brothers Ron Varnell, Sunny Kelly, Frank Kelly and sister Sandra Watkins and 19 grandchildren that he dearly loved.

He was a graduate of Rossville high school class of 1974, serving in the United States Air Force, joining the IBEW he served a four-year apprenticeship while working for the Tennessee Valley Authority where he went on to become a manager of security installation systems, and finished his career working for Johnson Controls.

Gary’s final week was mixed with difficulties and sweetness. The difficulties make it easier to accept his passing, the sweetness and God’s Grace will sustain us.

The family will receive friends from 2-6 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 26, and 10–11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 27, at Chattanooga Funeral Home North Chapel, Hixson. The funeral service will be in the funeral home chapel on Monday, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Gary Moore officiating. Interment will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors.

Arrangements are under the care of the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
