Artists on the Loose is a group of 11 professional artists who share studio space on Chattanooga's Southside.  In addition to their Loose Fridays (ongoing Friday open house 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.), Artists on the Loose are mounting a group exhibition of realistic oil paintings, black and white photography, and fine wood furniture at the Exum Gallery located at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Chattanooga, 305 West Seventh St. at Pine, 5-7 p.m. nightly from March 3-April 16.

"Artists on the Loose share an authentic passion for creating high quality fine art in shared studio space.

We create opportunities for art collectors and casual buyers to have exposure to the finest representational artwork in the Chattanooga regional area. Our artists thrive in a professional atmosphere where we encourage, support and promote each other to excel and prosper.

"Each Loose artist is committed to the philosophy that original art is an important asset to our community and homes, therefore we offer art for every budget.

"Members of Artists on the Loose are involved in prestigious art societies and have shown work both regionally and nationally, garnering many national awards. Jim Aplin is a nationally recognized portrait painter, and Terry Rafferty is a guest blogger for the Oil Painters of America.

"The Exum Gallery at St. Paul's offers an excellent professional venue space for artists showcasing new work. Their support to the arts has been an important contribution to Chattanooga's lively art scene.  Artists on the Loose are excited to be showing there from March 3 to April 16," officials said.
