The Lee University Opera Theatre, directed by James Frost, will perform in the Buzz Oates Black Box Theatre Thursday, Feb. 23, through Sunday, Feb. 26.

The performances will include four short one-act operas: “The Marriage by Lanternlight” by Jacques Offenback, “A Game of Chance” by Seymour Barab, and “Angry Birdsong” and “Benedicta,” both by Milton Granger.

“The choice of the operas was based on giving all the participants in the Opera Theatre the chance to perform a role, which is always a major consideration for me,” said Mr. Frost, associate professor of music at Lee. “These lesser known operas fit the bill and performing in the Buzz Oates Black Box Theatre will be challenging for the students.”

Thursday through Saturday the performance will take place at 7:30 p.m. with a final matinee on Sunday at 3 p.m. The Buzz Oates Black Box Theatre is in Lee’s Communication Arts Building.

Tickets are available at the Dixon Center Box Office Monday-Friday from 3-6 p.m. or by calling 614-8343. Tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for seniors, and $3 for children. Seating will be limited.
