James “Junior” Fox, 85, of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday evening, March 28, 2017.
In his early days, he played basketball at Charleston High School under Coach Jim Smiddy. He went on to faithfully serve his country in the US Navy for four years, where he also played basketball. James opened Fox Car Garage in 1956 where he owned and operated it up until retirement in 1987. After retirement, he and his beloved wife Virginia loved traveling and sightseeing, but more than anything, he loved spending time with his family. He was a lifelong member of the Full Gospel Christian Fellowship. James was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Cleveland.
He is survived by his one true love of 65 years, Virginia Lewis Fox; daughter, Cynthia Fox Jones (Stephen Gay); and granddaughter, Bridget Jones (Nolan Bailey).
A celebration of life graveside service is planned for 1 p.m. on Friday, March 31, in the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, with Pastor Herbert Conley officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org.
