World War II Veteran Held Long Career With McKee Foods

William Payson Nutt, 91, of Ooltewah, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, January 2, 2017.

William was a member of the Collegedale Seventh-Day Adventist Church where he served as a deacon for many years, a retired supervisor from McKee Foods after 40 years, a member of the VFW Collegedale Chapter, and a Navy Veteran of World War II.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Valerie Nutt, parents, Payson and Mable Nutt, and four sisters, Irene, Janette, Muriel, and Shirley all of Maine.

He is survived by his children, William Nutt of Orlando, Fl., Bruce Nutt of Loma Linda, Ca., Gary Nutt of Collegedale, Tn., and Deborah Browne of Orlando, Fl, six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 12 p.m. on Friday, April 7, in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Dwight Herod officiating. Burial will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
