The Chattanooga Department of Transportation will be reconstructing West 8th Street from Chestnut Street to Pine Street to create a shared space area with brick pavers, stamped concrete, street trees, pedestrian lights, and street furniture, that will be open to pedestrians, bikes and vehicles.  Construction and full street closure will commence on Thursday, and will continue for four months.

Vehicle, truck, pedestrian and bicycle traffic will detoured to Broad Street.
