Police Investigate Death At Orange Grove Residence; No Visible Sign Of Trauma Found

A body was found in a van at an Orange Grove residence on Tuesday afternoon. Police said there was no sign of trauma found.

Staff at Orange Grove Park Group Home around 3 p.m. located the victim, who was unresponsive in one of the organization's vehicles (van).

The Orange Grove staff called 911 and rendered aid to the victim, 60-year-old Carrie Lee Parkey.

Chattanooga Police responded to the scene where Mr. Parkey was determined to be deceased.

Members of the Violent Crimes Bureau and Crime Scene Investigators were called to the scene to gather evidence.

There were no visible signs of trauma to the victim's body. However, due to the suspicious nature of how he was found, an autopsy will be performed by the Hamilton County Medical Examiner’s office to determine cause of death.
