Prep Tennis Region 3 A-AA: Silverdale Girls, Red Bank Boys Win Titles

In Region 3 A-AA Thursday, Silverdale girls claimed victory in singles, 4-0, against visiting Hixson, while the Red Bank boys rallied to edge host Collegedale, 4-3.

Silverdale Girls 4, Hixson 0

Silverdale lost only 12 games in four singles matches in defeating Hixson, 4-0, at Chattanooga State.

What’s Next: Silverdale will host Region 4 A-AA champion Chattanooga Christian Thursday May 18 in a state quarterfinal match with the winner advancing to Spring Fling XIV state tournament in Murfreesboro, May 23-26.

Red Bank Boys 4, Collegedale 3

Thanks to key wins by Gary Paradis in singles and doubles, visiting Red Bank rallied to defeat Collegedale, 4-3, and advance to the state quarterfinals (sectionals) next week.

Red Bank took an early 1-0 lead in singles as senior Daniel Cox won in straight sets at No.1, but Collegedale then posted victories at Nos. 3-4-5 to lead 3-1 before Paradis won a 3-setter at No.2 to force doubles.

The Lions No.1 team of Cox and Caleb Paradis won, 8-3, to make it 3-3, before Gary Paradis and Austin Camp rallied to win, 8-4, at No.2 for the team victory.

What’s Next: Red Bank hosts Region 4 winner Signal Mountain Friday May 19 in the state quarters with the winner advancing to Spring Fling XIV state tourney, May 23-26 in Murfreesboro
