MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Montgomery scored seven runs, all with two outs in the bottom of the second inning, and got a magnificent performance from their starter Jose Mujica (2-2), who went eight innings to help secure a 7-1 win over the Lookouts Thursday night at Riverwalk Stadium.
Mujica allowed just one run on two hits with two walks and four strikeouts in those eight innings of work becoming the first Biscuits starter to throw that many innings in a game this season.
In the bottom of the second inning, the Biscuits brought across seven-runs against Chattanooga starter Matt Tracy (2-3) who went just three innings and earned a loss.
Montgomery batted around in the second inning, sending 11 batters to the plate, including two RBI each from Cade Gotta and Justin O'Conner.
Tracy allowed seven runs on nine hits with three walks and struck out four in those three innings and it's the second time this season he allowed more than five runs in a start.
Randy Rosario gave the Lookouts three innings of one-hit baseball. He struck out four and walked one.
Flame throwing Nick Burdi pitched the final two innings of the night, perfectly, and struck out three.
Jon Rodriguez came into Thursday night riding a 14-game hitting streak, just one shy of Zack Granite’s season leading 15-game hitting streak, but was held hitless on the night, going 0-3 with a walk. Almost all of the Lookouts were hitless, combining for just three hits, a trio of singles from Edgar Corcino, Ryan Walker and Dan Rohlfing.
