The Soddy Daisy girls’ tennis team is comprised of talented players on the court as well as in the classroom.

Four Trojan seniors – Olivia Crawley, Shelby Noe, Emily Johnon and Marissa Mercer – all carry 4.0 grade point averages, including valedictorian Crawley who tops the list with a 4.28.

Tuesday at the Hixson Racquet Club the Trojans defeated East Hamilton, 6-3, to complete the regular season at 15-1 overall and 12-0 in district play. EH finished at 10-3 overall and 9-3 in district.

In the boys match, the host Trojans edged East Hamilton, 5-4, to improve to 3-11 overall and 2-10 district, while East Hamilton is 4-9 overall and 4-8 in district.

Headed to UT: Crawley and Noe have received full engineering scholarships to attend the U. of Tennessee in the fall, plan to be roommates and will compete on the Lady Vols club tennis team.

Upcoming: The Individual singles and doubles tournament is Monday and Tuesday May 8-9 at The Champions Club and the team region matches are scheduled for later in the week.
