Museum Of Flight Has Crowdfunding To Acquire F-14 Tomcat

  • Wednesday, June 21, 2017

The Museum of Flight at the Richard B. Russell airport in Rome, Ga. is currently trying to acquire an F-14 Tomcat from the Virginia Aviation Museum in Richmond.

This Tomcat, aside from being one of only 14 surviving Tomcats, was on the deck of the U.S.S. Abraham Lincoln during George W. Bush's "Mission Accomplished" speech.

It is the last Tomcat to perform a carrier landing, and will be the only F-14 available to visit within 200 miles of Chattanooga.

The movement of this Tomcat is a costly one, and the museum has started a crowdfunding campaign to raised the $40,000 needed for the move.
