Donald Wayne Samples, 64, a lifelong resident of Cleveland went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday June 19, 2017.

Donald was a member of Elkmont Baptist Church. He loved fishing and also had a great love for people and was loved by many. He enjoyed cutting up and having a good time with others. Donald was retired from Peyton's Southeastern and also worked part-time at North Lee Elementary in the Cafeteria. 

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, James “Pop” and Katherine “Bill” Samples; sister, Wanda Samples.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years and the love of his life Lilly Samples; children, Ray Stephens and wife Courtney of Midlothian VA and Tiger (Karen) Kohler and husband Donnie of Rock Springs GA; grandchildren, Gunnar, Summer, Jacob, Sara, Eli and Max; great grandson, Sawyer; sister Linda Haney (Gene); brothers: Larry Samples (Charlotte), Jerry Samples, and Gary Samples (Kelly). In addition to these, he leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends. 

The family will receive friends on Friday, June 23, from 5-8 p.m. and Saturday, June 24, from 1-2 p.m. at Phillippi Baptist Church at 2484 Harrison Pike Cleveland, TN 37311.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. at the church on Saturday, June 24, with Reverend Johnny Hood officiating. Interment will follow the service at Center Point Cemetery.
