Former Mocs Making Their Mark In The Pros

From the NFL, to the CFL to American Ninja Warrior, former UTC football players are making their mark at several levels.

 

Here is a rundown: 

Chris Lewis-Harris (2011) signs with the Denver Broncos
Five-year NFL veteran Chris Lewis-Harris 
signed on with the Denver Broncos last week.  An All-Southern Conference defensive back for the Mocs from 2008-11, Lewis-Harris played in 14 games last season, seven with the Cincinnati Bengals and seven with the Baltimore Ravens.  He had been with the Bengals since 2012 and has played in 33 games in his NFL career.

Faysal Shafaat (2014) on American Ninja Warrior
Former two-time All-American tight-end Faysal Shafaat competed at the Daytona Beach qualifier for the American Ninja Warrior show that airstonight (Monday, June 26) at 8:00 p.m.

C.J. Board (2016) – Baltimore Ravens
Former receiver C.J. Board is still battling to make the Baltimore Ravens roster.  He was signed as a free agent in the spring after a four-year career at UTC that left him fifth on the Mocs' all-time list with 2,032 receiving yards.  Here is an article from 
Sunday's Baltimore Sun that mentions him in competition for a roster spot at receiver.    

Jacob Huesman (2015) – New York Giants
Three-time Southern Conference Offensive Player of the Year Jacob Huesman is competing for a spot with the Giants at fullback.  The most decorated player in school history, Huesman own nearly all of UTC's quarterback records.  Here is an article from

Corey Levin (2016) – Tennessee Titans
Three-time All-American offensive lineman Corey Levin is trying to nail down a roster spot with the Tennessee Titans.  The Tennessean's Jason Wolf has 
Levin included on his projected 53-man roster, which came out today.  Levin was a four-year starter for the Mocs and a sixth round draft pick of the Titans in April. 

Buster Skrine (2010) – New York Jets
Former All-Southern Conference defensive back Buster Skrine is entering his seventh season in the NFL and his third with the Jets.  He started 14 games last year and is expected to again be a leader on defense.  He has eight career interceptions and finished last year with 47 tackles.  

Davis Tull (2014) – Saskatchewan Roughriders (CFL)
Three-time Southern Conference Defensive Player of the Year Davis Tull signed with the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the Canadian Football League in May.  This article includes a shot 
of Tull making a tackle in a preseason game against the B.C. Lions.  Tull is the SoCon career leader with 37.0 sacks from 2011-14. 

Vantrel McMillan (2016) – Montreal Alouettes
After a tryout with the Seattle Seahawks, former All-Southern Conference defensive lineman Vantrel McMillan signed with the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League.  He recorded a sack in their preseason game against the Toronto Argonauts on June 18 and is currently on the team's practice squad.
