James Lake Kimsey, 83, of Cleveland, passed away on Wednesday, June 28, 2017, in an Athens health care facility.

He was a member of Central Church of Christ. Mr. Kimsey was retired from Bowater Corporation after 40 years of service. He was a veteran of the US Marines where he served in the Korean conflict.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lake and Stella Officer Kimsey; and sister, Marie Wrinkle.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Betty Maxine Kimsey of Cleveland; daughter, Cynthia Darlene Brooks (Michael) Betancourt of Cleveland; sister, Lois Dean Niedert of Merritt Island, FL.; and special caregiver, Michael Betancourt, RN.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 30, at 12 p.m. in Moores Chapel Cemetery with Minister William B. Johnston officiating.

His family will receive friends from 10:00-11:30 a.m. on Friday at Fike-Randolph & Son Funeral Home.

The family suggests that memorials may be made to; Alzheimer’s Association, 7625 Hamilton Park Dr. #22, Chattanooga, Tn. 37421.
