CCS Junior Madelyn Gibbs Takes Second In Extreme Mustang Makeover

Madelyn Gibbs and her yearling mustang, Piper, competed in the 2017 Extreme Mustang Makeover held at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Ky. July 6-8.  

Each competitor received their yearling (12-24 months old) in March.  The yearlings were held at a facility in Ewing, Il.and many had been captured in the wild just months before. Piper was captured in Pancake, Nv. in October. 

Competitors had 100 days to gentle and train their horses before competing last week.

Madelyn and Piper placed: fifth in handling and conditioning, first in trail obstacle, third in freestyle and second overall.

They won $2,500 and other prizes.

Madelyn also won the highest placing helmet wearer in the Helmet Incentive division.

Madelyn will be a junior at Chattanooga Christian School.  She has two other horses and competes in 3 Day Eventing.  She was the 2016 Mid South Region United States Pony Club Dressage Champion.
