Barbara Ann McLain, 89, of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away on July 23, 2017.

She was born on April 2, 1928, to the late Walter Quay Roberson and Annie Marie Hughes Roberson. Barbara Ann was a lifelong resident of this area and a graduate of Bradley High School. She was a member of Prospect United Cumberland Presbyterian Church for over 70 years, where she was a Sunday School Teacher and Bible School Superintendent. Barbara Ann was a homemaker, but after the loss of her husband she worked at Bradley Healthcare. Above all things, she loved spending time with her family and friends and studying the Bible. She touched many lives and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her mother and father, she is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Billy McLain; daughter Peggy McLain Neyman; sisters Sue Wolfe and Willa Dean Bridger. 

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her son, John Thomas McLain (Anita); granddaughter, Gretchen Ruvo (Rob); grandson, Jason McLain (Michelle); great grandchildren: Jacob McLain, Hunter McLain, Sonny Ruvo; nieces: Renee Mashburn, Robin Winslow, Rhonda Powell, Cindy McLain Roberts, and Jan McLain McSpadden. In addition to these, Barbara Ann leaves behind numerous extended family members and friends. 

A celebration of life service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at Prospect United Cumberland Presbyterian Church located at 310 New Murraytown Road. Pastor Phil Sumrall, Pastor Butch Hullander, and Pastor Sam Melton will be officiating. Music will be provided by her grandson, Hunter McLain. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 4-6:30 pm. Interment will be held at Fort Hill Cemetery on Thursday July 27, 2017. A funeral procession will leave Prospect United CPC at 10:30am on Thursday. 

Jason McLain, Jacob McLain, Hunter McLain, Rob Ruvo, Greg McSpadden, and Johnny Craigo will be serving as pallbearers. Dr. Lindsay Hathcock and Dr. Keith Mills will serve as honorary pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Prospect United Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
