Dixie Youth Baseball – District 6: 7-8s (AA) Head to State This Week

While Americans across the country celebrate our nation’s birthday Tuesday, players representing Dixie Youth Baseball District 6 hope to celebrate a few wins on the ball field in the 7-8s (AA) state tournament in Rockwood beginning Thursday.

Signal Mountain American: The district champs went 3-0, outscoring their opponents by a combined 57-6; 10-0, 16-1 and 31-5.

Offensive standouts included Charlie Dart, Wil Flenniken, Reagan Kulisek, and Dane McMillan (who had a home run).

The team was led on defense by Luke Allen, Ethan Barkat, Parker Milz, Henry Tutera, and Noah Francescon.

Pool Play Schedule: (top two teams advance to double elimination main bracket) all times are EDT

Thursday July 6, 4 p.m. - Signal Mtn. v. Harriman

Friday July 7, 11:30 a.m.  Signal Mtn. vs. Springfield

Friday July 7, 5:30 a.m. – Signal Mtn. vs. Lewis County

Main Bracket Games will be played Saturday and Sunday.

 

* Lookout Mountain: The district runner-up went 2-1.

Defensive standouts included Ward Bickerstaff at shortstop, Jake Lindquist at second, and Elliott Haisten and Haddon Salter sharing time in centerfield.

 Lookout Mtn. was led offensively by leadoff batter Owen Bible along with Daniel Horne, Wyatt Cain, Carver Gamache, Cooper Zendejas and Spencer Paschall.

Friday July 7, 8:30 a.m.  Lookout Mtn. vs. Dickson County Nat’l
