David Jackson Skiles

David Jackson Skiles, age 76, of Soddy Daisy, passed away on Friday, August 11, 2017 at his residence. 

He was a son of the late Joe and Gladys Skiles and is preceded in death by his brother, Wesley “Mutt” Skiles; sisters, Doris Redden and Dianne Ricketts; and an infant great-grandson, Cooper. 

David served in the United States Army National Guard. He was a business owner in Soddy Daisy for over 50 years and was very active in his community. He coached Little League baseball and served as president of the Kids Club and had also served as a Soddy Daisy commissioner. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Veronda Skiles; sons, Jeff Skiles and Kip Skiles; nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Tommy Skiles and Greg Skiles and several nieces and nephews who all held a special place in his heart, as well as several extended family members and a host of friends that he cherished. 

The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the staff of Hospice of Chattanooga for their care and kindness. 

There will be no formal visitation or funeral services and the interment will be private as per David’s wishes.
