On Tuesday, the Southern League announced that four Chattanooga Lookouts players have been named 2017 Southern League Postseason All Stars.  Earning the nominations are shortstop Nick Gordon, outfielder Edgar Corcino, designated hitter Jon Rodriguez and relief pitcher Gabriel Moya

Gordon adds a postseason all-star nomination to his ever growing list of accolades.  After being named a mid-season all-star the shortstop continued his impressive campaign.  Gordon is hitting .275 on the year and currently leads the team in hits (134), triples (8) and stolen bases (13).

The Lookouts other mid-season all-star to also make the postseason squad is outfielder Corcino.  Corcino rejoined the team in August after being called up to Triple-A Rochester in July.  Since coming back to the team he has compiled 24 hits, three homers and 14 RBIs to add to his already impressive season totals.  Overall, Corcino is hitting .297 with 23 extra-base hits.

Joining the Lookouts three position players on the squad will be Moya. Moya began the year with the Jackson Generals before being traded to the Twins organization before the Trade Deadline.  As a General, Moya went 17-for-17 in save opportunities and only surrendered four runs in 34 games.  After becoming a member of the Lookouts, Moya continued to dominate.  In 11 games Moya converted all six saves and only gave up one run in 11 innings.

Chattanooga’s third postseason all star, Rodriguez, currently ranks first in on-base percentage (.415), slugging percentage (.520), and runs scored.  He also ranks in the top five in seven other categories including second in extra-base hits (60) and total bases (222).  The first baseman was buoyed by an outstanding month of July where he hit .383 with six home runs, 13 doubles and 22 RBIs.  His red hot month of July led to him being named the league’s Player of Month.

The Lookouts last action packed homestand of the year begins this Thursday (8/31)! The upcoming homestand features MEGA Fireworks and the ZOOperstars! on Friday(9/1), College Football Night on Saturday (9/2) and College Kids Eat Free on Sunday(9/3).

This homestand is also the last chance for fans to exchange their unused 2017 tickets. For all five games fans can trade in their unused 2017 tickets at the RE/MAX Ticket Office for a general admission seat.  If you don’t have any unused tickets, you can purchase tickets over the phone at 423-267-4TIX or visit Lookouts.com.

Tickets for the team’s upcoming playoff games on September 6 and 7 are also available now!
