Judge David Campbell DAR Hosts Formal Dress Sale Fundraiser

The Judge David Campbell Chapter of the National Society of The Daughters of the American Revolution is sponsoring a Formal Dress Sale on Friday, Jan. 26, and Saturday, Jan. 27.

The sale will be at the Veterans of Foreign War Post 4848, 2402 Amnicola Hwy. Doors will open at 2 p.m. on Friday and close at close at 7 p.m. The sale will resume on Saturday at 10 a.m. and end at 2 p.m.

There are over 300 formal and prom dresses offered and each dress will sell for $20. These dresses are either new or gently used and are in excellent condition; however, all sales are final, and dresses are as-is with no returns. 

The proceeds of the sale support the chapter’s endeavors in promoting historic preservation, patriotism and education. Examples of projects supported through its fundraisers are over 1,200 flags were presented to first and fourth graders in the Hamilton and Marion County schools in 2017; it has professionally framed and presented portraits of George Washington to schools in the area; it prepared and served a meal at the Chattanooga Community Kitchen while providing scarves, gloves, knit hats and socks to the patrons; it provides tokens to new citizens at Naturalization Ceremonies, and it prepared and shipped 49 care packages to deployed military personnel for Christmas.
