Richardson, Dessa Mae

Dessa Mae Johnson Richardson, age 76, of Rossville, Georgia, passed away Monday, January 29, 2018. 

She was born on July 20, 1941 in Summerville, Ga. to the late Elige and Annie Laura Robinson Johnson. She was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church, was formerly a member of Hilliard Temple A.M.E. Zion Church, and was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Richardson; daughter, Sheila A. Johnson; and brother, Joseph Liege Johnson. 

She is survived by her four sons, Michael (Debbie) Johnson, Gardel Johnson, Paul Johnson of Rossville, and Derrick Richardson of Chattanooga; brother, Herbert (Jenelle) Johnson of Rossville; sisters, Opal Moore of Summerville, and Vanessa Fain; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 3, at noon at Shady Grove Baptist Church, 879 GA-341, Chickamauga, with Rev. James Clark and other ministers officiating. Her remains will lie in state at the church from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour. Interment will be at Lakewood Memorial Gardens South.
