A roofer who authorities say took $2,100 from a woman, but never went to her home to perform the work has pleaded guilty in Criminal Court.

Martin Brady, 39, appeared before Judge Barry Steelman.

Brady, who had been set to go to trial on Tuesday morning, was allowed to plead to the misdemeanor of theft under $1,000. He had been charged in January 2015 with theft over $1,000.

He will be on county Level III probation while repaying the money at a rate of $175 per month.

Prosecutor Jason Demastus said the woman tried numerous times to contact Brady, including sending a certified letter.
