Fisk Jubilee Singers To Perform At Southern Adventist University Feb. 10

Southern Adventist University welcomes the Fisk Jubilee Singers for a concert on Saturday, Feb. 10 at 6 p.m. in the Collegedale Church of Seventh-day Adventists, 4829 College Dr. East in Collegedale.

Fisk University opened in Nashville in 1866 as the first American institution to offer a liberal arts education to “young men and women irrespective of color.”

The ensemble was founded on Oct. 6, 1871, and continues to travel around the world singing Negro spirituals and representing Fisk University. The two-time GRAMMY-nominated Fisk Jubilee Singers have won a Dove Award and were inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame, as well as the Music City Walk of Fame.
