Morning Pointe Cornhole Tournament Spurs Sportsmanship In Seniors

  • Wednesday, January 31, 2018

Residents at Morning Pointe of Collegedale at Greenbriar Cove and The Lantern at Morning Pointe Alzheimer's Center of Excellence faced off in a fun, competitive game of cornhole. The Lantern won 8-3.

The seniors at the assisted living and Alzheimer's memory care communities in Chattanooga, Collegedale and Hixson have been participating in a cornhole tournament since January.

The teams are giving it their best toss toward the Corn Bowl on March 26.

"The residents are having a great time while enjoying some good sportsmanship," said Jenny McFarland, executive director at Morning Pointe of Collegedale. "It's fun to see our seniors take part in some healthy competition as they are staying active and even making new friends."

Morning Pointe residents enjoy activities that encourage wellness and social interaction as part of the life enrichment and Meaningful Day programs.
