Wofford Sweeps Mocs 3-0 In SoCon Volleyball

The Chattanooga Mocs (8-14, 4-5 SoCon) volleyball squad couldn't find its offensive attack during a 3-0 (25-22, 25-21, 25-15) sweep on the road at Wofford (11-11, 4-5 SoCon) on Friday evening in Southern Conference action.
 
Chattanooga falls to 8-14 overall and 4-5 in league action while Wofford improves to 11-11 and 4-5, respectively. Both teams currently sit in a tie for fourth place in the SoCon standings heading into tomorrow's action.
 
UTC was limited to season-low offensive numbers across-the-board during the three-set match.
Its .011 hitting percentage was the lowest of the season and second-lowest for the program in a SoCon match over the last five seasons.

Chattanooga raced out to a 17-11 lead in the opening set before Wofford closed on a 14-5 run to take a 25-22 set win and a 1-0 lead in the match. The Terriers rode that momentum for the entirety of the night in route to earning a 25-22 win in the second and a convincing 25-15 victory in the third to complete the sweep.
 
The Mocs recorded season-lows on offense in kills (25), hitting percentage (.011) and assists (20) while also committing a three-set season-high 24 attacking errors. Wofford attacked at a .245 percentage while recording 39 kills on 33 assists.
 
Ally Ford and Dani Szczepanski paced the team with seven and five kills, respectively, while combining for three aces, eight digs and four block assists. Brianna Anderson tied a season-high with four kills and set a new season mark in digs with six.
 
Jaquelyn Langhaim finished two digs shy of posting another double-double, ending with eight digs and 12 assists in addition to four kills and two aces. Emily Plumlee added three kills, a pair of digs and a block assist in the three sets.
 
Megan Kaufman tied Langhaim with a team-high eight digs while adding three assists. Bailey Bennett added five digs and Maddie Halsey posted five assists and two digs for UTC.
 
Chattanooga finishes up the weekend with a 7 p.m. ET match at Furman tomorrow night in Greenville, S.C. The match is streamed live on the SoCon Digital Network and additional coverage links including live stats are posted on the schedule page.
