The Dawsonville, Ga. Auto Racing Hall of Fame Association is proud to honor the late “Dalton Bad Boy” Craig Reece’s  #74 “National Title Pawn / Ford Racing” race car by enshrining it inside the hallowed halls of the Georgia racing museum. In what is to be a huge honor for the Reece family, race fans and friends alike are welcome to come and show their support, and enjoy festivities as a plethora of the teams supporters and sponsors will be on-hand early Saturday, Oct. 20, to commemorate the “Craig Reece Racing, All-Star Performance, Capital Race Cars, Jack Cornett Crate Race Engines D347SR Dealer, Cody McCarver, Schaefer Racing Oil, Billy Johnson Allstate Insurance, Holley Carburetors, Base Race Fuel, Airport Auto Sales, Bell Helmets, Afco Shocks, Image Signs and Graphics, Weld Wheels, Hoosier Racing Tires, Nick Lyons: F&L Salvage, Wraps by Outlaw, The Mitch Walker Show on Performance Motorsports Network, GW Performance and NAPA Auto Parts” Crate Late Model raceteam. Gordon Pirkle at the GARHoFA has spearheaded this endeavor along with lifelong friends Mitch “The Doc” Walker, Mark Angus “Outlaw” Chaplin and parents Larry and Annette.

Craig would have wanted this to be a continuation of his work to bring the younger generations of racers and fans into racing The cars that are in the hall reflect the true history of the sport of auto racing in the state of Georgia, and adding the Craig’s “Ghostrider” built by former Dirt Track World Champion and family friend Marshall Green will only continue this. The CRR team began competing in 1996 with second generation racer Craig at the helm, as his father turned over operations of his program to his then 16-year-old son. After a stint in the Larry Moore Racing School in Florida, the #74 began entering races weekly at his home tracks of North Georgia and Cleveland speedway’s in the late 1990’s. After a brief hiatus from competition to focus on faith and family, CRR began its second chapter with partnership from Mike Delahanty of Ford Racing out of Detroit, Mi. The pairing would sprout a multitude of success in the late 2000’s winning at a variety of tracks from Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina and Kentucky with the new Ford Crate motor. CRR reached its monumental season winning the 2012 “Rome Boss” Crate race and the Dixie/Rome Crate Track Championship. CRR would close up shop after the devastating untimely death of Craig in 2016 at age 35. Celebration at the GARHoFA begins Saturday morning, Oct. 20, at 10 a.m. with racing swag giveaway’s and a presentation around 11 a.m. at 415 Hwy 53 in Dawsonville.
