Arvel Lee Stepp
Arvel Lee Stepp, age 97, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Friday, November 16, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born Dec. 19, 1920 in Centre, Al., a son of the late Vester and Ottie Carter Stepp. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Mae Sneed Stepp; stepdaughter, Elnora Brown; and brothers, James Stepp, Tommy Stepp.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army.
He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Jean and Cy Kirk, Frances and Gary Miolen of Rocky Face; step-children, Ronnie and Beverly Patton of Ohio, Linda Roberts of Chatsworth, Ga.; grandchildren, Shawn and Rodney Stanley of Ringgold, Ga., Carey Kirk of Rocky Face, Ga., Sheri and Chris Parker of Chatsworth, Ga., Jody Hannah of Rocky Face, Ga.; great-grandchildren, Morgan, Hunter, Gabriel, Cody, Kristen, Jordan; great-great-grandchild, Kolton; special niece, Diane Robertson of Rocky Face, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews.
A service to celebrate the life of Arvel Lee Stepp will be held Sunday Nov. 18, at 4 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Charles Rogers officiating. Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery with Carey Kirk, Rodney Stanley, Hunter Stanley, Chris Parker, Cody White and Juan Ruiz serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday.
