The Chattanooga Mocs tee off Friday at the National Golf Invitational. The 10-team field plays 54 holes – 18 per day – through Sunday competing in just the second NGI. The Mocs and friends match up on Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Course.
"We really just want to go to Arizona and finish on a high note," Coach Colette Murray explained. "We had so many good rounds this year and played well in almost all of our tournaments. The end was not what we had hoped for, so we are very appreciative that we get this opportunity to try to redeem ourselves.
"The winner of the NGI gets an invitation to one of the best events in college golf next year, so there really is a lot at stake."
The Mocs feature the third different starting lineup of the season in Arizona.
Sophomore Makenzie Cooper, a native of Litchfield Park, Ariz., is joined by junior Alexis Daniel, sophomore Kera Healey and the freshman duo of Violeta Fernandez-Tagle and Giulia Foresta. It’s Daniel’s first start while the rest of the squad has started each time out in 2023-24.
