Longtime Pianist At Lookout Mountain Presbyterian And Member Of The McDowell Music Club

Alice Elizabeth Jobron Alsobrook of Lookout Mountain, passed away on January 31, 2017, in a local hospital. 

She was the widow of James Samuel Alsobrook, to whom she was married for 62 years.  Born on February 18, 1922 in Silver Creek, MS, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in music at the University of Chattanooga, where she was a favorite student of Harold Cadek.

She was the sixth of seven children of John Jobron and Minnie George Jobron, all deceased. 

She is survived by her daughter Alice Lynn Alsobrook, granddaughter; Megan Elizabeth Alsobrook Moye Coffey (Michael) and great-granddaughter; Josephine Eloise Coffey.

Mrs. Alsobrook was a member of Pi Beta Phi Fraternity and served as alumni House Corporation Chairwoman for more than 30 years.  She was a member of the McDowell Music Club and performed in concert annually. She was also a member of The Fairyland Club.

She was a member of Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church for 55 years, where she faithfully played the piano for the Brock Sunday School Class for many years. Mrs. Alsobrook worked with her husband, Sam, in his business, Alsobrook Décor.  for more than 40 years.

A private family graveside service will be held at Forest Hills Cemetery on Feb. 3, at 1 p.m. On Feb.5, a reception will be held in the Reception Room of Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church from 10-11:30 a.m.  A memorial service will follow at the church.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church.
