Clyde Lee “C.L.” Murray Jr., 83, of Cleveland, Tn., passed away on February 17, 2018.

He was born on Oct. 19, 1934, to the late Clyde Lee Murray Sr. and Hazel Inscore Murray. C.L. was a resident of Cleveland for the majority of his life. He was the owner and operator of Murray Lumber Company. C.L. was an avid coon hunter that owned several world champion hounds over the course of his life. He was also a very talented race car driver who won many championships. C.L. also enjoyed the sport of fishing.

In addition to his mother and father, he was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Linda Murray; brothers, Bobby Murray and Dean Murray; and sister, Oneita Guinn.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his son, Rodney Murray (Pamela); daughters, Lori Underwood (David) and Connie Murray; grandchildren: Hannah Underwood, Andrew Underwood, Justin Murray, and Kevin Murray. In addition to these, he leaves behind numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends.

The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 22, at Companion Funeral Home at 2419 Georgetown Road NW, Cleveland, Tn. 37311. A celebration of life service will follow the visitation at 7 p.m.
