Clifford Frederick Kelley, 94, of Dalton, Georgia, passed away on Monday, February 26, 2018 at Morningside Assisted Living. 

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 61 years, Blone Lee Kelley; his parents, J.O. Kelley Sr. and Annie Maude Kelley; brothers, J.O. Kelley Jr. and Rural C. “Butch” Kelley; and sister, Katherine Plemons. 

He is survived by his sister, Ruby and Tommy Mathis of Dalton; special sister-in-law, Betty and John Curtis of Gainesville, Ga.; son, Larry C. and Marilyn Kelley of Dalton; grandchildren, Lesley and Scott Boger of Leesburg, Va., Tyler and Meghan Kelley of San Diego, Ca., Ryan and Sara Barksdale of Atlanta, Ga., and Olin Barksdale of Louisville, Ky.; and six great-grandchildren, Ethan Boger, Alys Boger, MacKenzie Kelley, Ethan Reilly, Lilly Reilly, and Gibby Barksdale. 

Mr. Kelley was a combat veteran of World War II and fought with the U.S. Army 88th Infantry Division in Italy from late 1943 until the end of the war. Clifford worked for many years at Crown Cotton Mills and then E&B Carpet Mills until his retirement. He was an avid outdoorsman, who loved fishing, hunting, and camping. He was a lifelong Christian of the Baptist faith and a member of several Baptist churches, the last of which being the First Baptist Church of Dalton. 

The family wishes to thank the staff of Morningside Assisted Living for their loving care of Mr. Kelley over the last few years. 

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Kelley are Saturday, March 3, at 1:30 p.m. from the chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. Phillip Cannon officiating. Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends from 12-1:30 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
