Donald Howard
Donald R. “Pop” Howard, 79, of Hixson, passed peacefully, surrounded by family on Monday, March 12, 2018.
Don was born in Flat Rock, Al., on January 9, 1939. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Edna Howard. He was a member of Stuart Heights Baptist Church and loved being surrounded by his family. Don retired from DuPont after 35 years. He loved the beach, the Tennessee Vols, and making bats at the ballfields.
Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Diane Howard; sons, Donny (Jennifer), Chris (Robin), and daughter Kelli (Craig) Smith; grandchildren, Madisen and Jordan Howard and Luke and Logan Smith.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 14, and 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. on Thursday, March 15, at Hamilton Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 15, at the Hamilton Funeral Home, with Brother Gary Jared officiating.
Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens. Honorary pallbearers will be family and friends.
Memorial donations may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation and to Stuart Heights Baptist Church.
