Kyra Plotner of Mobile, Al. was named SSAC Women's Golfer of the Week and S.M. Lee of Dalton State was named SSAC Men's Golfer of the Week, presented by BoxOut Sports, the league office announced Tuesday.
The awards are based on performance for the week of March 12-18.
Kyra Plotner (Mobile – SR – Rio Rancho, N.M.)
Plotner wins the award for the second time this season.
She turned in a seventh-place finish at the Skyhawk Invitational March 12-13 at the Par-72, 5,808-yard Lakeview Callaway Gardens GC.
Plotner shot a +17 161 (82, 79), only two strokes shy of a top-five finish, with three golfers from 16th-ranked Milligan above her. Mobile finished third of eight teams with a +89 665 (337, 328).
S.M. Lee (Dalton State – SO – Buford, Ga.)
Lee wins the award for the second-straight week, with a Dalton State golfer winning it three out of four weeks.
The sophomore won the Carey Collegiate Classic with an eight-under 136 (72, 64) at the Par-72, 6,817-yard Canebrake C.C
Lee beat out 70 other golfers and led Dalton State to a tournament title with a 19-under 557 (288, 269), beating out three other SSAC squads
