Review for Stephen Lee Rich:
With over 40 years as an entertainer under his belt Stephen Lee Rich is a phenomenon. You never know what he might do. It could be original songs, tunes from the 1920’-40’s, old Country hits, or 60’s pop songs. His knack for singing in so many different styles combined with family friendly comedy, and cowboy-style yodeling is why the Manitowoc Times Herald Reporter called him, “a one man variety show.”
You’ll hear music from the heyday to the declining years of Vaudeville (roughly from the Prohibition Era through WWII) mixed with explanations of what Vaudeville was, how it worked, and its cultural impact. Stephen Lee spices it with anecdotes about the stars of the era who went on into films, radio, and television. It’s all rounded out with comedic story-telling and a bit of yodeling (because every good Vaudeville act needed a gimmick).
