Judge David Campbell Chapter Held Lineage Research Workshop

  • Saturday, April 14, 2018

The Judge David Campbell Chapter held a "Paper Party" at the Holiday Inn-Hamilton Place with many chapters throughout the state of Tennessee represented. Lineage Research Tennessee State Chairman Merry Anne Pierson from the Fort Nashborough Chapter in Nashville, and Chapter Registrar and NSDAR National Vice President Susan Thomas, from the Judge David Campbell Chapter in Chattanooga, presented a two hour workshop on lineage research.

As the National Society Daughters of the American Revolutions strives towards its goal of reaching 250,000 members by the year 2033, the Daughters of the American Revolution educate members and prospective members on how to research their family lineage.

The presenters took members and guests through a research quiz to start working on current knowledge of up-to-date information on the NSDAR application process.  Each participant was provided a folder with the NSDAR membership application, lineage worksheets, a fan chart, the FamilySearch.com weblink and information sheet for frequently answered questions, and other handouts for everyone to take home.

Ms. Pierson noted during the presentation that she fell in love with genealogy research due to her love of reading mystery novels and solving jigsaw puzzles.
