Melba Grooms Wilson, 89, passed away on Sunday, April 15, 2018.

She was a native of Grundy County, Tennessee and graduated from Grundy County High School Class of 1947. She also attended McKenzie Business School. She was employed in several different positions in the Chattanooga area during her lifetime. She was a member of White Oak Church of Christ and a former member of Red Bank Church of Christ.

Melba was the eldest daughter of the late Hobart and Bessie Parmley Grooms. She was also preceded in death by six brothers, George, Paul, Clyde, Howard, Douglas, and Harold. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, James F. Wilson.

Survivors include a son, Monte F. (Sherry) Wilson; two daughters, Vickie (Mike) Nelms, and Deidra (Joe) Moore; four grandchildren, James, II, Lindsey, Joe, and Erin; and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 17, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home. A private graveside will follow with Minister Steve Lusk officiating.
