A man told police he was beaten in the head and face with a hammer after he allegedly "disrespected" a woman earlier in the day.

Bobbie J. Boston, 62, of 2819 Morgan Ave., was charged with aggravated burglary.

Police said they took out warrants against Derrick Boston for aggravated burglary and aggravated assault.

In the incident early Friday morning, a resident of Cannon Avenue said he was asleep in bed when the Bostons began beating on his front door. He said they had pushed their way inside by the time he got to the door.

He said Derrick Boston began striking him with the hammer. He said he retreated to the bedroom, but Derrick Boston followed him there and continued the attack.

The victim, age 41, said Bobbie Boston told him the attack was because he had disrespected her.

Police found the victim bleeding from numerous places on his head and face.

Bobbie Boston denied being at the victim's house, but said he had been at hers earlier that day.
