Hill, Bernice Imogene Carter

Bernice Imogene Carter Hill, 81, of Rossville, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday April 22, 2018. She was born to the late John Edward and Elsie Harris Carter in Collegedale, has been a lifelong resident of the North Georgia area and was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend, who will be greatly missed.

She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Leonard Hill; sons, Steven and Mark Hill; and brother, Charles Carter.

Imogene is survived by her children, Teresa Hill Chumley, of Rossville and Michael Hill, of Chattanooga; granddaughters, Shelley (Bryan) Slatton, of Ringgold, Staci (Jason) Gunter, of Chickamauga and Mashonia (Justin) Patterson, of Ringgold; grandson, Kendall Chumley; sisters, Joyce (Gary) Powell and Chris Carden; 15 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; companion and friend, George Glenn; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, April 27 in the funeral home chapel, with Dr. David Sampson officiating. Interment will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3-8 p.m. on Thursday and prior to the service on Friday.
