UTC's Grayson 8th At Tri Star Classic Track Meet

  • Friday, April 27, 2018
Three University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Mocs completed competition on Day One of the Tri Star Classic Friday afternoon in Johnson City, Tenn., in its final meet of the regular season.

Taylor Grayson finished eighth in the women’s Shot Put Friday afternoon with a throw of 10.84 meters. Grayson threw her longest on her fifth attempt improving with each throw.

“Taylor got better with each throw,” Chattanooga head coach Andy Meyer said. “Her fifth throw was her best and got her eighth overall.
She’s had a sore throwing shoulder all week and showed great determination competing and placing despite her pain.”

Rebekah Hampton hit her longest jump on her second try at 4.92 meters while Rebekah Bryant’s best of three was her final leap at 4.84m.

“They both had good long jumps despite the windy conditions,” Meyer said. “They both caught and surpassed two SoCon jumpers they been beat by earlier this year.”

The meet will conclude Saturday with the hammer throw, triple jump, 100 meter hurdles and the 100 meter dash. Live scoring is available online at GoMocs.com and results will be posted at the conclusion of competition Saturday.
