Britian Crutcher
Chattanooga Police have charged Britian Crutcher in the Nov. 18, 2017, homicide of 28-year-old Ladarius Cross.
Crutcher, who has been in the county jail on other charges since Nov.
22, is charged with criminal homicide.
On Nov. 18, 2017, at approximately 5:16 a.m., police responded to the 800 block of Wheeler Avenue, where two victims were found suffering from gunshot wounds.
Cross was pronounced deceased on scene and Terrance Careathers, 26, was suffering from non-life threatening injuries.
Police said investigators worked continuously for more than four months to piece information together in order to charge Crutcher on Tuesday.
The circumstances surrounding the homicide remain under investigation, it was stated.
In 2011, Crutcher was charged in a residential robbery at 1994 Appling St. in which the victims were forced to disrobe. Crutcher, who was 19 at the time, was charged with aggravated robbery, three counts of aggravated kidnapping, three counts of aggravated assault and theft over $1,000.
A woman told police that as her daughter was preparing to leave for school, three suspects rushed into her home demanding money. She and her daughter were forced into a bathroom where her boyfriend was. The victims were made to disrobe while the suspects ransacked the home.
