Leonard F. Hemphill, 69, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, April 22, 2018, at NHC.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mamie Coonrod; brothers, Richard Coonrod, Thomas Coonrod, David Coonrod; sisters, Christine Reeves and Rhonda Fears.

Survivors include his devoted wife, Renee Hemphill; daughters, Tysa Gattis (Cameron); Lendrail Holloway (James); Jurea Groomes (Shawne) and three step daughters, Yolanda Collins, Monica Asherry, and Veronica Collins; sons, Jim V. Brown, III (Annett Clay), Eric Penn (Valene), Calvin Hemphill, and one stepson, David Collins (Raie) of San Diego, Ca.; seven grandchildren; 12 stepgrandchildren; 17 step great-grandchildren; brothers, Joe Coonrod, Vongoree Coonrod, Tanzalone Coonrod, Michal T. Clark; one sister-in-law, Neva Gregsby; a devoted friend, Joe; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

The body will lie in state after noon on Thursday, May 3. Family visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. 

 Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 4, in the chapel at 1 p.m. with Reverend Allen Burney officiating. Interment will be in Highland Cemetery.
